Every piece begins with a moment of wonder. A weathered tree shaped by the wind, an osprey on the hunt, or the changing light along the Cape Cod shore.
Raised in southwestern New Hampshire, Gary Cota learned early to appreciate the quiet beauty of the natural world. After studying Fine Art at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), he spent decades building a successful wood-carved sign business, creating handcrafted signs that became landmarks throughout New England.
When he returned to creating fine art full time, he brought with him a lifetime of craftsmanship, patience, and an artist's eye for detail. Today, from his Cape Cod studio, Gary transforms wood and canvas into award-winning works that invite viewers to slow down, look closer, and discover the stories hidden in nature.
