Gary Cota's hand-carved, painted wood relief of a girl reading under an autumn tree filled with red and orange leaves and cardinals

Read, Reading, Red is about perspective and the joy of getting lost in a good book. From above, the cardinals quietly watch as a young girl disappears into her story, unaware of the life unfolding around her. Sometimes, all it takes is a different point of view to see the beauty we've been missing.

This piece won Best in Show at the Cape Cod Art Center Red Exhibit. It was also displayed at the Smithsonian’s Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Art Center.
