It’s a New Year was inspired by a family tradition from my years living along the Connecticut River. Each year, we placed our Christmas tree on the frozen river, where it would eventually be carried away with the spring ice flows. The quiet winter landscape and the tree drifting toward a new season became a reminder that every ending brings a new beginning.
